The show hosted emeritus professor at the department of architects of the University of Thessaly, Mr. Vassilis Kolonas, who spoke about the publication “Smyrna (1870-1922) City and Architecture. The contribution of the Greeks” published by Univercity Studio Press.
He spoke about his many years of research in public and private archives that prove the contribution of the Greeks to the modernization of Smyrna. Through engravings, photographs and architectural plans, the reader sees the parallel course of the city’s public and private architecture with the intellectual, cultural and commercial renaissance of Smyrna.
