Remarkable Personalities: Father Lambros Kamperidis | 26 Nov. 2025

In the program, Father Lambros talks to us about his journey from Constantinople and Athens to Montreal, about his search for his own “identity,” and about the calling he received at some point to devote himself to the Priesthood.

The priest and historian Lambros Kamperidis also speaks to us about the Monastery of St. John the Forerunner in Sozopol on the Black Sea, a subject he researched as part of his doctoral dissertation, as well as about his latest book, “Secret Lives: Six Liturgies for an Unaccompanied Landscape”. A novel with autobiographical elements, it contains thirty-six stories of people who search for a lost place in order to define their identity.
From the pseudo-Armenian Kamperian to the Smyrnaean Marika Rosa Doloroza and the Cypriot Pambos, the book’s characters struggle to reclaim their sense of self.

The Greek diaspora priest also speaks to us about the Greek Community of Montreal and the young people who keep their Greek identity alive in faraway Canada. In addition, he refers to the “saint of letters” Alexandros Papadiamantis, a timeless and always relevant Greek author.
