Our guest was Stathis Soulis, one of the most celebrated conductors of his generation.
One of the most renowned conductors of his generation, Stathis Soulis began studying music at the age of four and later graduated from the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, specializing in orchestral conducting under Miltos Logiadis. He has collaborated with numerous ensembles and organizations, including the Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, the Ionian University Orchestra, the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the Greek National Opera, the Athens Concert Hall, and the Athens & Epidaurus Festival. He has also appeared as conductor of chamber music ensembles at the ICMC/SMC International Conference (Onassis Stegi Foundation), and has collaborated with the ARTéfacts ensemble and Ventus ensemble. Since 2019, he has been working regularly with the Greek National Opera, conducting productions such as Simon Boccanegra, The Seven Deaths of Maria Callas, Andrea Chénier, Otello, and Axion Esti by Mikis Theodorakis, as well as the Alternative Stage productions My Fair Lady and Into the Woods.
