The episode of Friday, July 14, was dedicated to Tourism.
We traveled to Chios where we talked with the president of the Hoteliers Association, Antigoni Maistrali, about the tourist traffic, the particularities of the island, which is traditionally addressed mainly to domestic tourism, prices and the issue of the cost of ferry tickets.
On the same agenda, we then chatted with Mr. Giannis Evgenikos, former deputy mayor of Skyros and president of the Association “DIKTYO POIOTITAS”, for his island.
In the second part, we had a very interesting discussion with Mr. Kriton Piperas, President of the Panhellenic Federation of Tourist Guides. He spoke to us about the profession of a tour guide, its particularities and the problems it faces with the presence in the field of people who are unrelated to the subject and are not legitimized to practice it. He explained to us how foreign visitors see Greece, what they conceive as positive and what they judge in a negative way from the services provided.
In the last part of the show, we spoke with Drama, from where the artistic director of the Short Film Festival, Yannis Sakaridis, informed us about the program and the goals of this year’s 46th event, in which, once again, dozens of promising young filmmakers from Greece and the rest of the world will participate.
After the international news with Ivana Djordjevic, we set sail for Buenos Aires. There, we met a Greek journalist, Thimios Kakos, who is currently in Argentina to present the complete documentary film “Te encontré Che”, a tribute to Che Guevara, focusing on Ernesto, as his childhood friend Carlos Calica Ferrer met him.
