“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Angelopoulos featured Kalina Bliznaska, a Greek language professor and founder of the “Panellinika” school in Sofia; Silia Michailidou, a Greek language professor; and Boriana Tzoupanova, a student of the school.
Currently, Ms. Bliznaska and Ms. Tzoupanova are in Greece along with a group of students from Bulgaria as part of an educational trip. Ms. Michailidou collaborates with the school from Greece, teaching Greek online. These educational trips offer students the opportunity to explore the city, deepen their knowledge of the language through practice, and build friendships while sharing memorable experiences.
Kalina Bliznaska graduated in Modern Greek Philology from Sofia University, with postgraduate studies in foreign language teaching methodology, summer Greek language programs, and European teacher training programs for Greek as a foreign language. For 17 years, she has been teaching both Greek and Bulgarian as foreign languages. In 2010, she founded the “Panellinika” school, the first private school in Bulgaria dedicated exclusively to teaching Greek to Bulgarians and Bulgarian to Greeks.
Silia Michailidou is a philologist, a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a master’s degree in ICT for Education. She has extensive experience teaching Greek, initially to Greek students preparing for school exams and university entrance, and more recently to foreign students, specifically Bulgarians.
Boriana Tzoupanova completed her postgraduate studies in law at Sofia University after graduating from the Classical High School. She works as a lawyer while continuing to deepen her knowledge of Modern Greek.
