“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos welcomed musician Elena Stamatopoulou from the Netherlands. A jazz singer and oud player based in Maastricht, she spoke about her life and work there, as well as her plans for the future.
Her music brings together traditional music, improvisation, and contemporary composition, connecting Mediterranean and Greek musical traditions with modern jazz. She draws on her Greek heritage alongside jazz and Middle Eastern influences to develop her own musical style. She performs with the Elena Stamatopoulou Quartet and takes part in a range of other ensembles and collaborative projects.
