“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 28 Nov. 2024

In the Thursday, November 28, 2024, episode, we started with an interview with the Secretary General for the Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Myra Myrogianni, on the occasion of the 1st Conference for Young People of the Diaspora, which started on Wednesday and concludes today, Thursday, at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre on Piraeus Street. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan for the Greek Diaspora, brings together young people, aged 18-25, from four continents, second and third-generation Greek expatriates. The conference’s goal is to strengthen the new generation of the Greek Diaspora through the Ministry’s youth hospitality programs.

Following that, we spoke with Christos Spirtzis, a senior member of SYRIZA and former minister, about the latest developments in SYRIZA and the center-left. Mr. Spirtzis discussed the post-internal party election period, the image the party projected during the election process, the Kasselakis era, and the mistakes made in the past 18 months since Alexis Tsipras’s resignation, as well as the steps needed for SYRIZA to make a comeback in the polls.

In the second hour, we communicated with Haris Zavoudakis, the ERT correspondent in Samos, for an update on a refugee shipwreck early in the morning, northeast of the island, which cost four lives, two of them children. This was the second deadly shipwreck in the area within 48 hours.

We then spoke with Sotiris Serbos, Associate Professor of International Politics at Democritus University of Thrace, to analyze the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.

In the final part of the show, we heard from social worker, mental health counselor, and author Nikos Tsilivarakos about his book “From Verse to Psychotherapy”, which he will present on Monday, December 1, at the Egalite Cultural Centre in Nea Ionia.
