On the Friday, 8 August 2025 broadcast, we began with a live link to the Prespa region, speaking with Sofia Zouzeli, Communications Officer of the Municipality of Prespes, about tourism in the area, the August events, and its attractions.
After reviewing the day’s online and print headlines, we discussed current political affairs with Vasilis Skouris, political editor and analyst from Dnews.gr.In the second hour, we opened with a “good morning” from ERT’s correspondent in Kozani, Despina Amarandidou, who told us about one of the most important traditions of the 15 August celebrations in Western Macedonia — the custom of the Cavalry Riders in Mikrokastro and Siatista. This festive occasion brings together locals, returning expatriates, and visiting tourists to share moments of joy and revelry.
Later, our guest in the Voice of Greece studio was Dr. Marianna Charountaki, international relations scholar and professor at the University of Lincoln in England. We spoke about her professional journey, U.S.–Kurdistan relations, and developments inside Syria, where a fragile calm prevails after the civil war.
