Wander Words: Florina | 15 Dec. 2025

A different kind of radio journey to Florina was undertaken by the program “Wander Words”, broadcast on Monday, 15 December 2025, on Voice of Greece.

The episode approached Florina not as a tourist destination, but as a place of memory, history, and art. Through a narrative-driven perspective, the city emerged as a palimpsest of cultures, experiences, and human paths, illuminating the relationship between space and time, collective memory, and creative expression.

Katerina Batzaki, who curated and presented the program, spoke with Kostas Taskas, Vice Regional Governor of Florina; historian and PhD in Classical Archaeology Andreas Andreou; and Zoi Godosi, PhD in Art History and Assistant Professor at the University of Western Macedonia.

The discussions focused on the city’s architectural heritage, its historical turning points, and the significance of art as a bearer of memory and social experience. The programme revealed Florina as a place that does not offer itself at first glance, but is gradually unveiled through observation, knowledge, and its own quiet presence.
