Stefanos Gkikas, Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, speaking at a shipping conference in Piraeus, referred to the safety of Greek seafarers across the world’s seas—especially during these days of conflict in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, he underlined the importance of the maritime profession for Greece, the evolution of shipping, and the crucial role of younger generations entering the field, who will go on to crew the country’s vessels in the future.
“Fair Winds and Following Seas” was there to record his statements.
