The Secretary General for the Aegean and Island Policy, Manolis Koutoulakis, speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.
He refers to the importance and the unique character of life for Greece’s islanders, from the smallest to the largest island, whether in the Aegean or the Ionian Sea.
“Despite certain difficulties on our islands, our islanders are proud people. The General Secretariat for the Aegean and Island Policy, which marks 40 years of operation this year, is always by their side. At the same time, the EU now places particular emphasis on its natural borders, namely its islands, whether in southern Europe and the Aegean, or in the north, such as Finland and Sweden,” Mr. Koutoulakis notes.
He also speaks about the program “Stone Terraces in Ephemeral Island Streams,” about the new types of vessels and ports needed to support the coastal shipping of the future, green development, young people at sea, water supply and water management on the islands, and much more.
