On the May Day edition of “Take Your Time”, the program opened with a review of the day’s headlines from major news portals, before dedicating most of the broadcast to the history of labour movement struggles, as well as to today’s realities and emerging demands.
Among the guests was Menelaos Charalampidis, PhD in History at the University of Athens and author, who spoke about the history of workers’ struggles in Greece and internationally, as well as the anniversary of the execution of 200 resistance fighters in Kaisariani on 01 May 1944.
Also joining the discussion was Giorgos Sideris, President of EINAP (Association of Hospital Doctors of Athens and Piraeus), who reflected on the message of the day and, in that context, the working conditions of medical staff in Greece’s National Health System.
Dimitris Karageorgopoulos, speaking from the city of Patras, referred to the city’s historical trajectory through deindustrialisation and the impact this had on the working class in previous decades.
In the final part of the program, the show connected live with four popular Greek islands—favourite holiday destinations for both domestic and international travellers—to discuss bookings and tourism trends for summer 2026. The program featured telephone interviews with Giorgos Pelekanakis, President of the Panhellenic Federation of Hotel Managers; Antonis Iliopoulos, Board Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and representative of the Santorini Hoteliers Association; Konstantinos Merianos, President of the Corfu Hoteliers Association; and Giorgos Chatzidimitriou, Vice President of the Samos Hoteliers Association.
