On Monday, September 2nd, 2024, in the show “Faraway Words” with Natasa Vissarionos, Asteris Kutulas, the curator of the “Mikis Theodorakis YouTube Artist Channel,” will be a guest via phone from Germany, where he lives. The platform will serve as the new digital home for Mikis Theodorakis and will be launched tomorrow, Monday, September 2nd, marking three years since the death of the significant composer.
The channel’s launch marks the beginning of MIKIS 100—the project celebrating 100 years since the birth of Mikis Theodorakis. The MIKIS 100 website and the Mikis Theodorakis social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok will also go live on September 2, 2024.
Asteris Kutulas is a Greek music producer, director, translator, and author living in Germany. He began collaborating with Mikis Theodorakis in 1980. During their collaboration, he produced approximately 30 CDs of his music and organized over 100 concerts worldwide. In 1998, he published in Greece the “Mikis Theodorakis Work Catalogue,” which is considered a fundamental work in the research on the composer’s body of work. He is also the creator of the film “Traveling with Mikis,” which he filmed over a period of 30 years.
