Historian Menelaos Charalambidis on the Liberation of Athens | 12 Oct. 2023, 12:00

On Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 12:00 (Athens time), the program Imprint” with by Fuli Zavitsanou welcomes historian Menelaos Charalambidis on the occasion of the anniversary of Athens’ liberation from German occupation (October 12, 1944).

He takes us back to the atmosphere and images of those days and explains why Athens is the only capital that does not celebrate its liberation. He also discusses the preceding years, the experience of the Resistance, and the significant role played by women, youth, and refugees from Asia Minor.
