“What happened in Greece when the king existed in reality and not only on the pages of books? At that time when the seat of the Parliament of the Greeks was his palace and the country’s polity the absolute monarchy?

The story of Flaflagonia and King Makrypogonatos by Emilia Emmanouil from KEDROS publications, is presented by the show “Narratives – Stories and fairy tales for young and old children” on Saturday, 22.06.2024 from 17:00 to 18:00 Athens time, at the frequency of “Voice of Greece”. Through the story of King Makrypogonatos, we discover together with our young and older listeners, how important freedom and justice are and what were the struggles that led to the creation of constitutions.

King Makrypogonatos dreamed of leaving a legacy behind. He imposed the strangest laws that drove his subjects to the brink of despair. But one night unexpectedly, everything changed. King Makrypogonatos will indeed leave a legacy and his name will be remembered, but in a different way than he imagined.
