Nikos Kostakopoulos on “Greece in Argentina” | 19 May 2024, 10:00

Nikos Kostakopoulos grew up in an environment where the tradition of Greek music and dance was part of his family’s daily life. His career as a Greek dance teacher began in 1979, and he was the first to research and spread the traditional Greek dances from various regions of Greece, Pontus, Asia Minor etc.

In 1986, he founded the Dance Group “BALLET ELEFTHERIA”. The respect for tradition, the love for his work and the experience he gained throughout his life, led to the recognition of his school by the Municipality of Buenos Aires.

From 2013 to 2018 he taught dance to 2,000 children in Santiago, Curicó, Concepción and Valparaíso, at the Gabriel & Mary Mustakis Foundation in Chile. In 2010, together with other musicians, he created the Greek Orchestra “KALI PAREA”, where he is the lead singer, percussionist and artistic director.
