Emma Cowell lives in Cornwall, UK, with her husband and their cat. The former actress and BBC presenter’s first novel “One Last Letter From Greece” became a bestseller in America and Canada and has been translated into Greek, Danish, Polish, German and Russian.
The story takes place in Methoni, Messinia, where Sophie, the heroine of the book, finds solace following the death of her mother and discovers the meaning of life.
This fascinating book, which is published in our country under the title “A Last Letter from Greece” by Pedio Publications, is the subject of the show “Remarkable Personalities” this Saturday, November 11th, at 4:00 pm GMT, presented by Mina Ralli.
Guesting in the studio of Voice of Greece was the headmistress of the Methoni High School, Katerina Plakouda, who “discovered” the book by chance in a bookstore and was the person responsible for its presentation at the Cultural Centre of Methoni last September.
We are joined by the author herself, who reveals what it was that made her fall in love with Methoni and why Greece became not only a source of inspiration for her, but also a second home.
Also talking to us about the book, which takes us on a journey to the beauty of falling in love and the eternal beauties of Greece and especially Messinia, is the Director of the Primary School of Methoni, Dionysis Psallidas.
