On Monday, August 12, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Athens time, the show “Our Town” will feature a special tribute to Santorini.
The episode will explore the island’s unique geological features, rich cultural heritage, and modern-day activities. Sofia Kitsou, former Deputy Mayor of Culture, will discuss the island’s spatial planning challenges. Evi Nomikou, a professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Athens and a NASA collaborator, will share her expertise on the island’s geological aspects. Stavroula Liapi will focus on the future of wine tourism, while Dimitris Tsitouras will offer his perspective on Santorini’s past, present, and future. The show will also address key issues affecting residents, such as overtourism and the significant changes the island is experiencing.
