On Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM Athens time, the show “Greeks Around the World – Greece in the United Kingdom“, hosted by Eliana Nunes, will feature Dr. Panagiotis Pentaris.
Dr. Panagiotis Pentaris is an Associate Professor of Social Work and Thanatology at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he is also the Director of Research in the Department of Social Sciences.
Additionally, he is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the European Association of Schools of Social Work and a member of the Research Committee of the International Association of Schools of Social Work.
Dr. Pentaris’s research focuses on death, mortality, grief, religion, racial and sexual diversity, as well as social work in disasters.
He has written articles and books, including “Death in a Transhumanist and Posthumanist Society” (2021, Routledge). His study “LGBTQ+ Parents’ Experiences in Greece” played a crucial role in shaping the legislation on same-sex couples’ marriage and adoption in the country.
