On Saturday, September 21, from 12:00 to 13:00 (Athens time), the show “Our Town” will feature Takis Barberis. The talented composer and guitarist will talk about special moments in his significant and long career. He will discuss the bands he has created, such as the Jazz Fusion Quintet, the Takis Barberis Group, and Model 63, with which he explored rock music with an experimental approach.
The guest will also speak about his collaboration with clarinet virtuoso Petroloukas Halkias and other renowned and important artists.
Takis Barberis will mention regions of Greece that inspire his music, international jazz festivals, the value of improvisation, and the important geographical position of Greece between East and West. He will also talk about folk and rebetiko songs, cinema, and theater. Special reference will be made to Poly Panou and Stelios Kazantzidis.
The show will also feature actress Kerasia Samara, who will talk about their long-standing strong friendship and collaboration.
Music from Takis Barberis’s fascinating career will be played during the broadcast.
