As part of the series of broadcasts of Voice of Greece, “Greeks Around the World – Greece in Argentina” with the President of the Greek Cultural Association Nostos, Dr. Christina Tsardikos, on Sunday, January 21st, at 10:00 Athens time, is hosting dance teacher and director Giorgos Dermitzakis.
Giorgos Dermitzakis, 91 years old, conquered audiences in Latin America and Argentina, creating a characteristic way of interpreting Greek traditional and folk dances. He was the only descendant of Greeks who has been awarded by the Municipality of Buenos Aires, in recognition of his cultural contribution as a prominent person of national culture, for his work that unites tango with hasapiko and rebetiko and confirms the harmonic coexistence of the two cultures.
