Composer Eleni Gaitatzi on “Our Town” | 20 June 2026, 12:00

On Saturday, 20 June, at 12:00 Athens time, the Voice of Greece program “Our Town” welcomes acclaimed composer Eleni Gaitatzi.

Known for her distinctive musical settings of works by C. P. Cavafy, Kostas Karyotakis, Alexandros Papadiamantis, Yannis Ritsos, George Seferis, Pistikos, and other literary figures, she has also composed music for ancient and contemporary theater, as well as works for voice, piano, and instrumental ensembles.

In conversation with Themis Rodamitis, the composer brings to life the intellectual and cultural world of Piraeus, the city where she lives and creates. She reflects on the institutions and initiatives that promote culture and with which she has been closely involved, offering a compelling example of artistic dedication grounded in excellence, integrity, generosity, and creative consistency.

Listeners will also have the opportunity to enjoy live performances from Studio B of Greek Radio by singer Kaiti Makri and pianist Niki Gkountoumi, who will interpret selected works from Eleni Gaitatzi’s musical repertoire.
