On Friday, 29 August, just after 11 a.m. Αthens time, Greek jazz vocalist Monika Kabasele—who has built a successful career in France with performances across Europe—joins Voice of Greece in the studio for the program “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos.
Born in Athens in 1995, Monika is a graduate of the Department of Greek Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Improvisation with New Technologies from the same institution.
She has attended vocal seminars with Jay Clayton, Sheila Jordan, and Kurt Elling, and has collaborated with some of the most important musicians on the Greek jazz scene, including Pantelis Benetatos, Seraphim Bellos, Dimitris Vassilakis, and Dimitris Kalantzis.
Her artistic path includes participation in projects such as Sera Bellos Vocal Quartet, Anamateur and Pros presenting Monique, Jazz Democracy, Girl Talk, and she has been a founding member of World Trio, Dearly Beloved Nancy, and Grecofuturisme. She has performed widely in concerts and festivals both in Greece and abroad.
