The week of October 27 – November 2nd is dedicated to the poet Nikos Fotopoulos.
Nikos Fotopoulos is a poet and academic. He was born in Amaliada in 1970 and lives in Athens. He is Professor of Sociology at the University of the Peloponnese, and his research interests focus on the Sociology of Education and Culture, Critical Cultural Theory, Lifelong Learning, and Adult Education. He has taught for many years at various universities in Greece and has served on numerous expert committees in Greece and abroad. His articles and papers have been published in collective volumes and conference proceedings both nationally and internationally.
Alongside his academic work, he is deeply engaged in poetry and creative writing. He made his literary debut in the 1990s, and his poems have been published in literary journals, included in anthologies, presented on radio, set to music, and adapted into short films. He has published five poetry collections and one collected volume of his poems from 1996–2016.
