Voice of Greece presents two special broadcasts of “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis, featuring the distinctive artists Eleni and Souzana Vuogioukli, in a musical journey attuned to the spirit of the season.
On Saturday 04 April 2026, 12:00–13:00 (Athens time), Eleni Vougiouklis and Souzana Vougiouklis guide listeners into a rich sonic landscape of traditional hymns, gospel and ritual laments from Greece and around the world. Drawing on their own research and storytelling, they create a deeply atmospheric experience where two voices—resonant like an ancient prayer—meet the emotional intensity of Easter. Through a repertoire rooted in memory and rebirth, they reveal how lament can evolve into a shared act of catharsis. The program features characteristic songs and musical traditions performed in their singular interpretive style.
The journey continues on Monday 06 April 2026, 22:00–23:00 (Athens time), as the Vougiouklis sisters return to “Our Town” to travel across regions of Hellenism and beyond, exploring emblematic melodies from the international repertoire. Often described as “priestesses of multiculturalism,” they perform in more than 20 languages and dialects, exploring the expressive potential of the human voice with precision and respect for each language’s sound, rhythm and articulation. A vibrant selection of songs from different cultures—each with its own distinct color and identity—will be presented.
Tune in to a unique musical experience.
