Mastro-Antonis Rafelelos from Sifnos speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” and Voice of Greece. He never regretted the 35 years he spent working and traveling the seas as a marine engineer.
“I finished school in Sifnos. We studied by sunlight and by the light of an oil lamp. Later, we moved to Piraeus, where I completed my studies at the ‘Archimedes’ school. Since I was a child, I wanted to become an engineer because I was good with my hands and always loved creating,” says Mastro-Antonis.
He concludes, “As long as there is the sea, we will never run out of money. Young people need to understand this and pursue a career in the maritime profession.”
