The acclaimed mezzo-soprano Betty Harlafti, famous in Greece and abroad for her close collaboration with the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, was a guest on “Voices and Music”, hosted by Alexis Kostas.
On Thursday, November 6, 2024, Harlafti joined us live from Voice of Greece studio, just days before her appearance in London, where she has been invited by the High Commission of Cyprus to perform pieces by Mikis Theodorakis at an event titled “Cyprus 1974-2024: A 50-Year Journey.”
Born in Corinth with roots in Asia Minor, Betty Harlafti has given remarkable concerts with a varied repertoire in Greece and abroad (USA, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Israel, Poland, Turkey, etc.) and has collaborated with Greece’s leading orchestras (Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra, El Sistema Greece, Mikis Theodorakis Popular Orchestra, among others). She continues to perform concerts in Greece and abroad featuring Theodorakis’ repertoire and more, while an international version of her latest album with Theodorakis, produced by ERT, is set for release.
