Christina Tsardikou, President of the Hellenic Organization “Nostos” in Argentina, was hosted today on the show “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos, in light of the recent mass protests in Argentina, in protest of low pensions.
Ms. Tsardikou emphasized that in Argentina, it is very common for citizens to take to the streets whenever they want to protest about something. She also added that pensioners, whose pensions are just one hundred euros and are insufficient to meet their needs, frequently organize protests. Even the medications that were previously covered by the state, she pointed out, are now extremely expensive and no longer covered. Lastly, she spoke about the cultural activities of “Nostos,” the conference, and the Greek weeks that will take place in the provinces of Argentina, and noted that an agreement was signed with Paraguay and Bolivia, aiming to teach Greek to the Greek diaspora there.
