In an interview with Voice of Greece and the show “Take Your Time”, Louka Katseli discussed the 2015–2019 period, the referendum, today’s economy, and the lasting impact of the bailout years. She also touched on the role of banks and the law that went down in history bearing her name—a law that served as a lifeline for borrowers and the protection of primary residences.
The former minister referred to the negotiation led by then Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras with the Europeans, stating that the referendum was the best possible choice, as it resulted in a more manageable third bailout agreement. According to Ms. Katseli, a third memorandum was ultimately unavoidable.
