The author of the book “Relentless Radio” (Ασίγαστος Ασύρματος), Dimitris K. Alexopoulos, talks about the incredible story of his grandfather Dimitris, who hailed from the mountainous region of Phthiotis and fulfilled his dream of becoming a sailor, despite never having seen the sea as a child.
He became a wireless operator in the Hellenic Navy, experienced World War I and the Asia Minor Catastrophe. During World War II, he was part of the resistance organization “Omiros,” which collaborated with the Allies.
