The show featured, live from Melbourne, Mrs. Roma Siahou, President of the Greek Writers and Poets Association of Australia, on the occasion of the commemorative event for the 200th Anniversary of Lord Byron’s death, organized jointly with the Greek Consulate in Melbourne. The event, titled “Lord Byron, the Philhellenic Poet”, will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Greek Consulate’s event hall in Melbourne. It will include a rich program featuring recitations of Lord Byron’s poems that bring his literary work to life, musical performances creating a unique atmosphere, and informative discussions with distinguished academics and experts about Lord Byron’s life, work, and contribution to Philhellenism.
As Mrs. Siachos mentioned, the Association is celebrating 32 years of existence and contribution to the cultural life of the Greek diaspora in Australia this year.
