Greek pianist Georgia Lazaridou from New York was a guest of Alexis Kostas on this episode of the show “Voices and Music”.
Georgia started her first lessons with her mother, Leti Pappa, who is a piano teacher, at the age of five. The ‘Reading Eagle’ newspaper sings her praises her for her “mastery of technical difficulties and soulful expression”. She has appeared in solo recitals, as a soloist with various orchestras and chamber music concerts. She has participated in music festivals such as: Chetham’s International Piano Festival in Manchester, England, Kutztown University Summer Music Festival in Pennsylvania, USA, FIMCE Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara del Elqui in Chile and more. She has taken part and won prizes in competitions both in Greece and abroad. Along with her studies, she has been teaching piano to children and adults since 2015 and lives in New York.
