The show “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos hosted Katerina Paziou, a retired translator from Kozani, in light of the 52nd anniversary of her residence in Australia.
Ms. Paziou, of Pontic descent, shared in her letter to the media from Kozani that in 1972, she embarked on a journey to Australia with her husband and their seven-month-old son aboard the ocean liner “Patris.”
Initially, she found eight of her twelve siblings there, along with relatives, and later, her parents also migrated. Throughout these 52 years, she experienced both beautiful and challenging moments, expressing her gratitude for the opportunities afforded to her in this country. However, she emphasized that she feels more Greek than Australian and takes pride in her heritage.
