On Thursday, April 20th, 2023, the show “Imprint” of the “Voice of Greece” with Fouli Zavitsanou, featured Malamo Stergiou, founder of the group “Co-habitation for the Elderly and the Non-Elderly – Building my Future!” and Alexandra Koronaiou, Professor of the Department of Psychology in Panteion University, to attempt an approach on the major issue of the Elderly. We talked about the stereotypes surrounding this population group in public discourse and in the media, about their demands for social visibility and creative coexistence, the growing lack of public support networks, and also about the promising new examples of coexistence and cohabitation of the elderly and the non-elderly people that promote the values of community and solidarity and disentangle care from the state, family and charity.
