On Thursday, 03 July 2025, “Imprint” with Fuli Zavitsanou hosted Leonidas Oikonomakis, assistant professor of Sociology of the Global South at the University of Crete and member of the hip-hop collective Social Waste, who recently released a new album titled “Rebelde.”
Oikonomakis spoke about James C. Scott’s thought-provoking book “Homo Domesticus: The Agricultural Revolution and the Origins of the State”, recently published in Greek by Pli̱thos Editions, for which he wrote the foreword.
He also discussed the themes of resistance and political struggle that run through the lyrics and musical blends featured on Rebelde.
