Like Odysseus: National Gallery – from “The Art of the Irrational” to “Unwanted Art” | 29.03.2025

On Thursday, March 28, 2025, a protest event took place at the entrance of the National Gallery of Athens, calling for the reinstatement of the censored works “The Art of the Irrational” (Η Τέχνη του Παραλόγου) by Christoforos Katsadiotis. Censored artworks from 1945 to the present were displayed in the flowerbeds under the theme “Unwanted Art.”

Joining us was the painter and engraver Christoforos Katsadiotis, calling in from Paris, while in the studio, our guests included Faye Tzenetoulakou, PhD in Art History and a member of the executive board of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA INTERNATIONAL), under the auspices of UNESCO, and Dimitris Sarafianos, a lawyer and director of OSDIET (Organization for Visual Arts Copyright), former Vice President of the Hellenic Union for Human Rights and Civil Rights, and a member of AICA. The discussion revolved around freedom of expression in the age of political correctness and the woke agenda.
