The president of the Board of Directors of the Municipality of the Heroic Island of Kasos, Nikolas Tousounis, speaks about the critical situation the island is facing recently regarding its ferry connection with Piraeus and other islands.
“The ferry issue has been a concern for the island for many years. Our wish is to solve this problem immediately and avoid setbacks. We are in the age of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence, so life and living conditions on remote islands, especially on Kasos Island, which gave everything for the Nation and paid a very high price with its Holocaust, must be improved. We do not deserve 45-year-old ships. I fear that we may face a new ‘Tempi’ in the Aegean, and that is why the ferry ‘Preveli,’ which has served and helped us for many years, should be withdrawn, and we thank it for that,” emphasizes Nikolas Tousounis.
