Nikolas Tsantoulis, originally from Piraeus and now living in Thebes, embarked on his first voyage on December 19, 1980, aboard the bulk carrier Spirit, a 17,000-ton ship traveling from Durban, South Africa, to Aqaba, Jordan.
He has a total of 37 years of sea service and always preferred to sail on ships flying the Greek flag.
He has always wanted to help young people and eagerly shared his knowledge and the secrets of the ship’s engine, a field he chose to pursue because, as a child, he worked in machine shops and knew a lot, which he perfected at the Pythagoras School of Engineering.
