“The New Minos…”
“Nikos Karavanos is an athlete who began his training in the exotic Rethymno… The distance deprived him of the opportunity to train daily with athletes of his level,” states the Hellenic Wrestling Federation in an article titled “New Minos” on its website. It continues: “Through hard training, he managed to win the silver medal at the European U17 Championship, making an entire island proud!”
Karavanos shared his journey to the second step of the podium in Serbia, competing in the 92 kg freestyle wrestling category, uniting his voice with the voice of all Greeks through ERT’s global radio station “Voice of Greece”, on the show “Athletic Voice” with Grigoris Nanis.
