On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, Our Town presented a festive broadcast to ring in the New Year.
This special episode featured songs performed or written by the beloved folk singer Tolis Voskopoulos, brought to life in a unique way by Vasilis Lekkas.
The vibrant musical program included cherished songs that have become timeless classics, blending lyrics and music, often associated with Greek cinema.
Iconic female vocalists like Jenny Vanou, Marinella, and Litsa Diamanti originally performed these songs, but they were reinterpreted in this broadcast by the exceptional Ioanna Emmanouil.
Performing live were musicians Giorgos Konstantinidis (piano), Stathis Savvidis and Dimitris Koufogiorgos (bouzouki), Yiannis Promponas (bass), Andreas Nikolis (drums), Christos Evangelatos (guitar), and Sofia Mavrogeneidou (flute).
Broadcasting from Studio B of Greek Radio, the program reached listeners in Greece and around the world to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new with joy, cheer, and optimism.
