The experienced captain, seafarer and poet Giannis Gavalas from Hydra is the guest on”FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS” at the VOICE OF GREECE.
He tells us about his beloved sea, when and how he first embarked, the School of Merchant Mariners of Hydra, which is the oldest merchant marine school in the world. He reads us some of his sensational poems (he has published 7 poetry collections).
He tells us about an adventure down in Cape Town where a black stowaway was lost from the ship and saved and shares his complaint about Greek sailors not being able to vote while on the ship.
