On Friday, February 2nd, we spoke with the rector of the National Academy of Sciences, Ioannis Hatzigiorgiou about the initiative of the foundation to rescue the historic Shipwreck of Zakynthos, which is in danger of disappearing due to deterioration, altering the character of the popular beach in Zakynthos. Immediately after the newspapers hit the headlines, the new regional governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas, gave an interview to the show. He referred to the plans for the reconstruction of the areas affected by the floods, the reparations, the projects planned for the future shielding of the regions of Thessaly from the Climate crisis, but also, in general, to the priorities of the Regional Authority for the next months in the fields of agricultural production, business development, culture. At the end of the first hour and before international news with Ivana Djordjevic, we spoke with Asimina Proedrou, director of the film “Behind the Haystacks” which impressed audiences and critics and was the Greek proposal for the foreign-language Oscars.
In the second hour, we hosted Mr. Antonis Karastergiou, actor on the play “The Love Life of Animals” performed at the cultural venue PLYFA. It is a dramatic conception by Loukia Anagnou, directed by herself and by Jessica Kourtesi, inspired by Alessandro Boffa’s book “You are an animal, Viskovitz”. The play tells about the stories of five representatives of the animal kingdom with various themes of inclusion and diversity, conveyed with humor and allegorical mood in a modern reality. Shortly before the end of the show, we opened a line with Leipzig, from where Mr. Myronas Michailidis, conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Saxony and artistic director of the Cultural Center of Heraklion of Crete informed us about the big anniversary concert that takes place on Saturday, February 3rd, at 5 pm, at the Bethanbienkirche in Leipzig, for the 40th anniversary of the twinning of the city of Leipzig with Thessaloniki.
