Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 02 Aug. 2024

On Friday, August 2, 2024, after covering the newspaper headlines, we spoke with journalist and political editor Kostas Poulakidas about the developments following the Supreme Court’s report on wiretapping, the ongoing discussion in the Institutions and Transparency Committee, and the internal issues within the Opposition parties.
Next, Ivana Djordjevic updated us on the latest international and Balkan developments.

In the second hour, we welcomed musician, performer, and actress Idra Kayne to the studio. She is one of the new names in the Greek jazz-soul scene and has also made a name for herself in theater through significant musical performances. Idra Kayne, who is also a radio producer, shared stories about her family: her father, who came from Uganda to study at the Hellenic Army Academy, and her mother, who loved music and supported her decision to pursue a career in music. She spoke about her childhood in Kypseli and the difficulties she faced as a black child alongside her brother. She recalled the tough years of the Economic Crisis, the rise in racist incidents, and the emergence of the Far Right in the city’s central neighborhoods. She discussed her major collaborations in singing, dancing, and theater, as well as her future plans, highlighting her success as both a singer and an actress.

The show concluded with a phone call to Paris, where Nikos Gomolis, a journalist from ERA Sport, updated us on the Greek athletes’ performances on the seventh day of the Olympic Games.
