“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 24 Oct. 2024

In the Thursday broadcast on October 24, 2024, we started with a reference to the anniversary of Giorgos Seferis receiving the Nobel Prize from the Swedish Academy, which was announced on this day in 1963. We listened to an audio recording of the poet reciting his poem “Epiphany.”
Right after the headlines, we hosted in the studio the Deputy Secretary of Communication of PASOK-KINAL, Vasia Anastasiou, with whom we discussed political current events following the elections in PASOK and the reelection of Androulakis, the situation in SYRIZA-PS, and the socio-economic issues citizens are facing while seeking answers from the New Democracy government.

The second hour of the show was dedicated to Giorgos Arvanitis, the leading Greek cinematographer, who traveled from Paris, where he has lived for the last 35 years, to attend a special evening in his honor at the 12th Chania Film Festival. The man who has collaborated with many of the great directors of world cinema and was the cinematographer for Theodoros Angelopoulos, shared memories of a life characterized by his unique relationship with light while speaking with Prokopis Agelopoulos on “Take Your Time.”
Following this, the well-known author, screenwriter, and director Elizabet Chronopoulou narrated the “adventure” of writing the book that tells the story of Giorgos Arvanitis, “A Life in the Light.” The two meetings took place in Chania at the Cultural Center, where the festival—a significant event for the city—is currently underway.
