Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 29.12.2023

On Friday, December 29, after the introduction and the newspaper headlines, we hosted Diana Voutyrakou, coordinator of the Think Tank of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. We talked about her studies, her relationship with the Left and her conscious choice to join SYRIZA. She commented on what happened in the party and the decision of her comrades who left; spoke about Stefanos Kasselakis and the party’s course towards the European elections. She spoke about her own experience as a public school student and the opportunities she was offered, having the good fortune to have very good teachers; she discussed the establishment of private-non-state universities in Greece, expressing her clear position in support of public education and public universities; and the possibility of free access to higher education without any discrimination. She referred to her acquaintance with Alexis Tsipras, describing him as the most charismatic Greek politician, at least in her own time, and commented on the issue of violence in modern Greek society, especially among young people.

In the second part of the show, we talked to Mrs Theodora Psaltopoulou, Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Athens, about the outbreak of coronavirus and other viral diseases and the measures we should take against them. Immediately afterwards, we connected with Thessaloniki and talked to Lina Papadopoulou, Professor of Constitutional Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, about the crucial issue of the legislation of marriage for same-sex couples and children adoption by these couples, exploring its constitutional dimension, in relation to the democratic rights of citizens, but also the reality itself.
