On Thursday, March 30, Maria Karaklioumi, political analyst of RASS, puts us in an election mood, analyzing the correlations of the parties, 50 days before the ballot box on May 21, comments on how the discussion about the possibility of new elections on July 2 could affect participation, talks about the tragic accident at Tempi and how it will affect the behavior of voters. She also talks about the percentages that lead to a majority vote and the percentages that the parties need to form a government, while she also notes something not insignificant, the fact that a smaller political party that will manage to win a significant number of seats with proportional representation, is likely to seek participation in a coalition government with the first ballot, as, in the event of elections with enhanced proportional representation, its seats will be significantly reduced.
Next up, in the second hour, the President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies, Lysandros Tsilidis, joins the broadcasting program. Based on his knowledge and expertise, he talks about this year’s tourist season, speaks about a special summer determined by the ongoing war in Ukraine and the general international environment, estimating that this year will have a positive effect on tourist arrivals. He also discusses the problem of inflation that raises costs, but also the accident at Tempi, which has shed a very grim light on mass transport that is essential for tourist travel. At the beginning of the discussion, he also mentions the problems that the owners of tourist buses are facing with the State and the bureaucracy and the problems that plague them, such as the demand for clarifications that, by law, no travel agency that is not in Greece can operate arbitrarily, illegally, without having physical representation, as defined by Schengen. The work provided by tourist buses is also distributed to other categories of professionals, who, however, do not meet both the quality and safety requirements laid down in the legislation.
The broadcasting program comes to a close with a discussion on the topic of animals, on the occasion of World Stray Animal Day, which is Tuesday, April 4, and guest Mr. Grigoris Gourdomichalis, President of the Environmental Association of the Municipalities of Athens – Piraeus. On that day, from 12 noon to 5 in the afternoon, the veterinarians of the Intermunicipal Centre for the Care of Stray Animals (DIKEPAZ) will be performing electronic microchipping and vaccination against rabies and leptospirosis completely FREE, on all the dogs that their guardians will bring to the DIKEPAZ premises in Schisto, Perama. Mr. Gourdomichalis talks about the services he provides for the protection of stray animals in all the municipalities – members of the Intermunicipal Association, and also provides information about the obligations that both the municipality has towards the stray animals and the owners have towards their pets.
