Today we travel to the magical world of cinema and special effects with Manos Stavropoulos, co-founder of the association “Progressive Expatriates”, who for the last 10 years has been living in England, on the outskirts of London, and for the last 7 years he has been working in the field of cinema, where he is involved in special effects.
Mr. Stavropoulos, is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a degree in Surveying Engineering, specializing in 3D laser scanner technology. As he said, he never imagined that he would do this profession, but he was given the opportunity when he moved to England.
His company provides 3D scanning/printing services of actors, sets and locations using 3D laser scanners and photogrammetry for the VFX departments of major film productions (amazon, marvel, Disney, star wars, mission impossible, harry potter, dune, game of thrones, etc.).
As Mr. Stavropoulos, in the last 3 years the company has transferred part of its production chain to Greece, establishing a branch which so far employs 12 young graduates.
