A tribute to the popular singer-songwriter and bouzouki virtuoso Giannis Karampesinis was on the broadcasting program “Voices and Music”, which is presented and curated by Alexis Kostas.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Giannis Karampesinis enriched folk songs with dozens of great hits, substantially helping many young singers apart from his songs, for many years he was a permanent singer of songs by other composers at Columbia. It is no coincidence that in 1960 Giannis Karampesinis worked with Manolis Chiotis on the recording of the legendary “Epitaph” by Mikis Theodorakis and Yiannis Ritsos, with Grigoris Bithikotsis and the accompaniment of Keti Thimi.
His ex-wife Mary Maranti (real name: Maria Tsekoura) who is a great singer of pop and folk, also speaks in the episode.
Presented and curated by Alexis Kostas
