Faraway Words with Christina Tsardikou from Argentina | 20 Oct. 2025

From Buenos Aires, Argentina, the president of the non-profit cultural organization “Nostos,” Dr. Christina Tsardikou, was a guest at the studio of Voice of Greece at ERT , invited by Natasa Vissarionos and Giorgos Keramidas.

Dr. Christina Tsardikou is currently in Greece as president of the Association of Greek Doctors of Argentina, invited by the World Hippocratic Institute of Physicians and the Athens Medical Association, where she participated in the “Hippocratic Week” in Athens. She spoke to us about her life in Buenos Aires, her family, the founding of the “Nostos” organization, the 14th Greek Nostos Congress that will take place in Resistencia, Argentina, the online Greek language courses and the growing interest from both Greek and non-Greek descendants throughout Latin America. She also shared her impressions of her recent experiences in the homeland and discussed the Memorandum of Cooperation to be signed between the Association of Greek Doctors of Argentina and the Athens Medical Association.

Dr. Christina Tsardikou was born in Buenos Aires to Greek parents. She is a physician and professor of biomedical physics and surgery. She serves as president of the Hellenic Cultural Organization “Nostos” based in Argentina, honorary president of the Union of Greek Writers and Authors of the Five Continents, and coordinator for Latin America of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis. She has been honored for her professional achievements by the National Academy of Medicine of Argentina and for her cultural contributions with the “Greek Women of the World” award (2023) from UNESCO Greece, the University of Patras, and the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy.
