The program featured, via phone, Haris Sfyrakis, founder and CEO of Algomo, on the occasion of EmTech Europe, the flagship conference of MIT Technology Review, which returns to Athens for the third consecutive year on 19 and 20 March at the Megaron – Athens Concert Hall, organized by the newspaper Kathimerini.
Mr Sfyrakis is a characteristic example of “brain gain.” In the past, he served as VP of Data Science at Barclays, where he worked on behavioral data for 24 million customers, while as Lead Data Scientist at HSBC he led the development of the bank’s global chatbot framework, now used across HSBC operations worldwide.
In the program, he spoke about his decision to return to Greece, his transition from the secure environment of a Vice President role to founding his own company in a competitive sector, the ways of networking between Greek scientists abroad and those based in Greece, as well as the conference itself.
